Reporting to the CTO, the Technology Director is a new position that will be responsible for ensuring that the web development team meets the organizational needs and objectives. You will connect the technology leadership and the web development team, keeping strategy in alignment with the business goals. You will continually assess the core technology architecture, relationships with third party suppliers/consultants and the smooth running of operations connected with our internal IT systems.

You will be required to drive, shape and support digital projects and initiatives from strategy through to execution, embracing new and enhanced solutions where possible.

You will lead a broad team with a diverse range of skills covering PHP, JavaScript, MySQL, Apache Web Server, HTML5, JQuery Expert, PHP MVC frameworks (Symfony, Kohana, CodeIgniter, Zend, etc.), Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Angular, couchDB and/or MongoDB.

This is a remote role where you may work anywhere in Argentina.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leading our growing team of web developers and maintaining our website and CMS infrastructure
• Ensuring the web development team is at the right capacity by selecting and recruiting team members and independent contractors
• Determining business requirements for web and CMS development
• Help IT leadership with strategy and planning
• Staying on top of IT technology trends and predictions

Required:

• Knowledge of the PHP development cycle
• Experience maintaining a CMS
• Experience in using Github for source code version management
• Significant experience of managing a web development team
• Comfortable communicating and building relationships with stakeholders at all levels
• Experience with methodologies like Waterfall, ITIL, Scrum and Agile
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to influence others without authority
• Good analytical skills
• Good business acumen
• Excellent English written and verbal communication skills

Desirable:

• Experience in scaling teams
• Experience in working in the media industry
